History
Our Founders’ Jorney
IC Assemblies’ story began with Al Gomez, who immigrated from Cuba to the U.S. in 1961 amidst the communist revolution. Al’s unwavering dedication led him to serve in the U.S. Army and work in manufacturing since 1970. In 1982, he founded Industrial Components from the garage of his West Miami home, laying the groundwork for what would become IC Assemblies.
In 1991, responding to the needs of his manufacturers and to help support domestic manufacturing jobs from an outsourcing wave, Al expanded his vision by establishing a contract manufacturing facility in the Dominican Republic. Joining him in this venture was Lucy Gomez, a seasoned entrepreneur who sold her successful metal stamping company in 1989 to become the full-time CFO at IC Assemblies. Together, Al and Lucy built a strong foundation for the company, driven by their shared commitment to honesty, innovation and quality.
Future Ready
As IC Assemblies grew, the next generation stepped in to continue the legacy. Their son, Albert Gomez, joined the company as Vice President, bringing fresh perspectives and strategic vision. Under his leadership, IC Assemblies has embraced advanced technology and automation, further enhancing our capabilities and efficiency.
Pablo Arevalo, General Manager and Partner, has played a pivotal role in integrating cutting-edge technology and total quality management into our operations. His expertise ensures that we not only meet but exceed industry standards, delivering superior results for our clients.
